I've been ruminating on this since before I went to MIT's Media Center for Imagination in Action's Forging the Future of Business with AI in mid-April. But, now that I have been to several events, and announced our second round of speakers, I feel like I'm ready to share ...
I've learned a lot in these past few months, I've read a ton of news stories, articles, and white papers, I've subscribed to several leading newsletters, and I've seen many different interviews both live and recorded. I've been exposed to so many brilliant people, and had the chance to interview some of them myself. I've been soaking it all up like a big sponge.
But, before I transition into sharing my vision for this upcoming event, I want to share that the concept is not mine - here's the origin story. Around November of 2023 a long-time friend who is embedded in the financial services industry said to me, "You know what's really big in financial services and banking right now?" I rambled off some of the terms I had heard recently in an attempt to answer, but I was met with, "nope it's Fintech, and AI.
My friend suggested that I do some research, and told me that he thought we needed to do a conference around the subject, and we needed to do it in 2024. He said we need to strike while the iron was hot, and the industry was abuzz about artificial intelligence.
I started my research almost immediately after that call and within a few days had a basic concept for the event. We had another conversation or two, made a decision about a name for it, and set out on this journey I've been on since January of this year.
Now that you know how we got here - here's my vision for the Fin+AI 2024 Conference.
First, and foremost is that I want to create a high-level event where thought leaders, experts, practitioners, and researchers share their experience, findings, and knowledge about the use and deployment of AI in their companies, and their client's companies across the many different segments that makes up the financial service industry. In my original research, I came to quickly understand that financial services is one of the industries that has the most to gain from integration of AI products and services.
As this is a groundbreaking, new event I understand I have to overcome that stigma - but the momentum behind AI in every is helping to relive the reticence that the industry has with new shows. Yes there have been other banking and financial service industry shows that have featured AI companies, and had tracks on the topic. But, I believe that we are the only event totally focused on the subject - and I am planting my flag firmly in the soil of Fin+AI.
I'm not trying to make Fin+AI like any of the other industry events. I'm not trying to compete with them, we are essentially a startup company, and will exude all the qualities that are usually associated startups. The passion, determination, grit, hustle, and exuberance for the subject matter will be found here. I'm completely sold on AI. I've been using it, learning about it and hearing from many others how they are using it to make business move faster.
The image above is the ground floor level of Le Méridien, Dania Beach, this diagram will help orient you to the hotel and help you better understand the event, I'm also going to do a video walkthrough later this month so you can see the actual facilities for the conference.
So first and foremost the hotel has 245 rooms, I want to sell the rooms out so we are the guests the hotel is serving. If you haven't already book your rooms now. The Le Meridien is providing us with a great rate of only $189 a night for anyone associated with Fin+AI 2024.
The hotel lobby, pre-function and conference is an open two-story area with floor to ceiling windows with plenty of light coming in. For the event we have the Aqua Vista Ballroom(s), which is where the conference proceedings will take place. And we have the Rivera Ballroom which is where the exhibitors will be setup. The Aqua Vista Ballroom has three air-walls which allows it to breaks down into four individual rooms. So now that you see the layout and space we have for the event here is the plan for the Fin+AI 2024 Conference.
On Wednesday, October 2nd the exhibitors will be setting up their displays in the Rivera Ballroom. Speakers, and attendees will be arriving and we are organizing several workshops that will take place in the afternoon to help prepare you for the event. Be sure to attend at least one of these individual workshops. Following is an overview of the two workshops we have scheduled, we still have room for a couple of more - please contact me for details.
One of the featured workshops will leverage the Logictry AI platform to provide attendees with an AI IQ Assessment. This assessment will be followed by an individualized consultation that will develop your criteria for how you like to learn, and then the AI platform creates a personalized learning path, ensuring attendees can optimize their knowledge about AI.
Many executives know AI is important, but lack the foundational knowledge to implement it effectively. Empower yourself and your team with the knowledge to leverage AI for transformative results.

In a separate session, another high-level workshop deep-dives into the world of faster payments. Money, The Gathering: The Game of Instant Payments will be led by industry experts Marcia Klingensmith, the Instant Payments Maven, and Jennifer Borchardt, CXO of Jen AI Consulting.
